It’s been a while since we’ve had CFL football in our lives. (About a month but who’s counting..?)

Holidays are, of course, about spending time with your friends and family but what happens when you’re a huge CFL fan and you can’t go more than a few days with out your fix of Duron Carter one-handed catches and Jerome Messam plowing through defenders?

Well, have no fear because I’m here to help.

Here are a few ways you can incorporate CFL football into your holiday season.

PLAY CFL FOOTBALL FRENZY

This can be played at any time during the holidays – trying to win the Grey Cup as every team in the CFL would be a fun challenge. (I’m definitely going to do this.)

You can also play at your family holiday party – just tell your fam that you’re looking up lyrics to holiday songs or recipes for a punch but you’re really finding a receiver on a corner route for a touchdown.

WATCH ALL OF THE HIGHLIGHTS

If you’re a diehard, maybe you re-watch the game recap of every single game from the 2017 season. Or maybe you watch every Best Of… highlight pack our video team put together.

There are HOURS of film you can have a look at on CFL.ca. Just take your pick.

PLAY A GAME OF FOOTBALL WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Grab your Mike Reilly jersey and channel your inner quarterback or put on your Emmanuel Arceneaux sweater and show off your best catch.

Or reenact the 105^th Grey Cup presented by Shaw. Hopefully there will be snow on the ground and you can air it out to your cousin who does his best DeVier Posey impression by running 100 yards (or so) and then sailing through the air into the end zone.

You can also channel your inner Matt Black and grab the game-winning interception.

BUILD YOUR OWN FREE AGENT TEAM

Have a look at the pending free agents (a full list can be found here) and put together an entire roster full of, you guessed it, pending free agents. Don’t worry if the player you wanted has already re-signed somewhere, you can pick them anyways.

The options are endless. Do you go with Jeremiah Masoli, Trevor Harris or Jonathon Jennings at QB? What about receiver? Duron Carter? Diontae Spencer? S.J. Green? Weston Dressler? And how about running back? Do you grab C.J. Gable or Roy Finch?

Get your friends and family to put together a team and then compare!
