Fortunately for Warren, the club was quick to react and ensured they locked in their franchise mascot to a long term deal. There was a rumor he had spoken to multiple teams about a contract, even a late push by the potential Halifax franchise couldn’t pull Big Joe away from the Nation’s Capital.

It was a tough negotiation knowing I was gonna be a free agent next yr. @REDBLACKSGM had an offer from the Green Riders to swap me for Gainer & a bag off kicking tees. Marcel threw in a fresh pair of suspenders per season and that sealed the deal to keep me in da Capital!
