EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have re-signed defensive back Aaron Grymes to a new one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.
In just six games in 2017, Grymes made a major impact in the Eskimos secondary, tallying 30 tackles, one special teams tackle and a forced fumble.
Over the span of three CFL seasons between 2013 and 2015, the 26-year-old appeared in 43 games, recording 101 tackles, one quarterback sack, eight interceptions – one for a touchdown, and one fumble recovery. He also earned West Division and CFL All-Star status in 2015 in addition to winning the Grey Cup.
Grymes signed a deal with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles in 2016 before he was waived in September of 2017. He then re-joined the Esks to finish off the campaign in Edmonton.
