TORONTO — According to a report from 3DownNation’s Justin Dunk, Anthony Calvillo could be returning to the CFL as the Toronto Argonauts quarterback coach.

Montreal Gazette reporter Herb Zurkowsky and TVA Sports reporter L.A. Larviere both echoed the report that Calvillo may be making his return to the Canadian game.

Calvillo was not named to Alouettes head coach Mike Sherman’s coaching staff for the 2018 season. He started the 2017 campaign as the Alouettes’ quarterback coach but became the offensive coordinator in September.

Before transitioning to a coach, Calvillo anchored the ship in Montreal from 1998 to 2013 where he won three Grey Cups (2002, 2009, 2010) while making his way into the history books. The 44-year-old holds the CFL’s all-time passing yards record (79,816) and was named the Most Outstanding Player three times (2003, 2008, 2009).
