Nick Moore retires; Lions release Mic’heal Brooks

VANCOUVER — The BC Lions announced on Friday that receiver Nick Moore has officially announced his retirement from professional football.

Moore originally joined the Lions in 2011 and was part of the club’s Grey Cup championship run that season. The Ohio native played two more seasons in BC before moving to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for a pair of seasons in 2014 and 2015 and returned to the Leos for the 2016 and 2017 campaigns.

“Congratulations to Nick on a great career,” said head coach Wally Buono. “He was a pleasure to coach and we appreciate his many contributions to the club. We wish Nick all the best in the future.”

In total, Moore appeared in 69 regular season games hauling in 282 receptions for 3,758 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Lions also announced that DL Mic’heal Brooks, DL Luther Maddy and OL Felix Gucusana have been released by the club while WR Jasper (Junior) Collins, DL Quinton Bradley, DLCourtel Jenkins and K/P Jose Maltos have all been added to the roster.
