Lions sign first-round pick Godber; Lewis retires

Rice University

VANCOUVER — The BC Lions have signed 2018 third overall draft pick Peter Godber, the team announced Saturday.

The offensive lineman out of Rice University was picked in the first round two weeks ago and will be under contract for the beginning of training camp Sunday, which kicks off in Kamloops, B.C.

Saturday’s signing means the club has signed all seven of its 2018 CFL Draft selections.

The BC Lions Football Club today announced that national offensive lineman Peter Godber has agreed to terms on a contract. Godber was the Leos’ first selection (3rd overall) in the 2018 CFL Draft held two weeks ago.

The Lions also announced that international offensive lineman Jeremy Lewis has informed the club of his intention to retire. Lewis had been signed as a free agent in February.
