Carter to start at corner vs. REDBLACKS

REGINA — It appears Duron Carter will be in for a heavy workload as a defensive back.

After it was initially reported by TSN’s Dave Naylor, the Riders have listed Duron Carter as their starting corner for Thursday night’s visit to the nation’s capital. This comes after the news that corner Nick Marshall, who had a pick-six in his first career CFL game against Toronto, would be sidelined after being injured.

The Riders visit the Ottawa REDBLACKS at TD Place as they look to improve to 2-0 after a season-opening win over the Argos.

Carter, widely considered one of the top receivers in the league, has played defensive back before, making his debut as a corner last season and famously returning an interception for a touchdown against the Stamps in 2017.

Taking Carter’s place on the offensive side of the ball is rookie receiver Shaq Evans.
