TORONTO — Fans are in for a treat this weekend as the 105th Grey Cup presented by Shaw rematch gets under way on Saturday night at BMO Field.
It’s been six months since the Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts faced off against each other during that snowy November night in Ottawa.
With an off-season behind them, the slate is clean for each squad as they both eye the season ahead.
Calgary started their campaign off on the right foot with a win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at home to start 2018 1-0 while Toronto fell to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on the road.
Rust may have been to blame for Ricky Ray and his offence in their first game of the regular season after the team’s starters sat during both pre-season games. On the other hand, a 20-pound lighter Bo Levi Mitchell looked in good shape as he helped his team to a victory at McMahon Stadium.
While the quarterbacks remain constant, there have been a few changes to each team’s receiving corps since the final game of the season last year – the Argos lost Grey Cup Most Valuable Player DeVier Posey to the NFL and Calgary released Mitchell’s favourite target in Marquay McDaniel.
