Eskimos sign former Als, Ticats receiver Sam Giguere

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have added national depth at receiver, signing former Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats pass-catcher Samuel Giguere.

Giguere last played with the Als before . Last season, Giguere played in 11 games with the Alouettes and caught 11 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. He was released by the club last January.

The 32-year-old joined Montreal in 2015 and played in all 18 games. He caught 39 passes for 368 yards and four major scores that year. In 2016, Giguere caught 36 passes for 440 yards and five touchdowns in 18 games.

Before joining the Alouettes, 6-foot, 218-pound wideout spent three seasons in Hamilton and tallied 116 receptions, 1,543 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eskimos also announced Tuesday that they have signed international defensive lineman Tashon Smallwood.
