TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts announced Monday that they have released veteran linebacker Khalil Bass and receiver Brian Tyms.

Bass signed with the Argos midway through last season after being released by Ottawa.  He only dressed in one game last season and played in the Argonauts last game against Calgary, rotating in at linebacker.

Tyms also joined the Boatmen midway through last season but was relegated to the practice roster. He started in two games this season the spot previously held by the now-departed Devier Posey.  In two games, Tyms had seven receptions for 55 yards.

Prior to joining the Argos, Tyms played parts of two seasons in Hamilton where he produced 36 receptions and 292 yards in 11 games.

The Argos are coming off a bye week as they prepare for a home-and-home with the Edmonton Eskimos.
