Williams leaves game, does not return against Ottawa

MONTREAL — Montreal Alouettes receiver Chris Williams left Friday’s game against the Ottawa REDBLACKS in the first half with an apparent lower-body injury and did not return.

Williams pulled up lame following a 33-yard completion from Jeff Mathews in the first quarter at Percival Molson Stadium.

The Alouettes initially listed the speedy receiver as ‘doubtful’ to return, and head coach Mike Sherman confirmed during a half-time interview with TSN’s John Lu that Williams had strained his hamstring and would not return.
