Adams Jr. to start at quarterback for Als vs. Edmonton

Montreal Alouettes

MONTREAL – Vernon Adams Jr. will start at quarterback for the Montreal Alouettes this week after he was listed at the top of the team’s depth chart released on Wednesday.

The Alouettes signed Adams in June after his release from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The 25-year-old has suited up in three games with the Alouettes this season and has carried the ball once for a single yard. The Oregon product has three CFL seasons under his belt, throwing for 583 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

Johnny Manziel is also set to see the field on Thursday, according to a report from CFL.ca’s Chris O’Leary. Manziel is listed third on the depth chart behind Adams Jr. and Matthew Shiltz.

Montreal plays host to the Edmonton Eskimos this week as the team searches for their second win of the 2018 season.
