CFL Fantasy Podcast, Week 7: The $10,000 man

The Canadian Press

TORONTO — With 30 or more points in back-to-back weeks, Andrew Harris has been a mainstay on Fantasy rosters throughout 2018.

But as his usage goes up, does his price tag, this week going over the $10,000 mark for the first time this season.

Suddenly, getting the Bombers’ ultra-talented running back in the lineup requires some outside-the-box thinking elsewhere, whether it’s a value pick at quarterback, a cheap flex play or an empty defence.

For Pat Steinberg and Jeff Krever, there are varying opinions on whether to continue picking the league’s most productive running back.

“I am continually putting Andrew Harris in my lineup,” said Steinberg. “He is a must-start every week with how involved he is in the receiving game and the rushing game. Against a Toronto team that gives up a ton of yards, he’s in my lineup, he’s good for the points, he’s money well-spent.

“It’s a lot of money but you know you’re getting a return every week.”

Steinberg, Krever and Hannah Nordman weigh in on that and much more in the latest from the CFL Fantasy Podcast:

For Krever, the question is how much money is too much?

“He’s simply too expensive — more expensive than most quarterbacks,” he said. “With Andrew Harris in your lineup you’re looking for 30-point production, and if you don’t get that it’s considered a huge disappointment.

“With the Argos getting Dylan Wynn back in the lineup I think they’re going to be a little bit harder to run against. Stay away from Andrew Harris this week.”

In this week’s episode the podcast trio debated the new-look Ticats, the struggling Argos and things even got heated when they talked about Johnny Manziel.
