Sights, Sounds and Social: Week 8

Week 8 truly had it all: a ridiculous last-second comeback, huge individual performances and plenty of great football on display.

Let’s revisit the week that was on social.


Thursday | Toronto 42, Ottawa 41

There is really only one picture to summarize what happened at BMO Field on Thursday.

Clutch.

Down 24 points, the Argos came back from the dead to rejuvenate their season.

Oh, and that unknown journeyman — Bethel-Thompson, was it? — turned out to be pretty good.

Then, we decided to have some fun with the last-gasp winner.


Thursday | Edmonton 26, Saskatchewan 19

First things first: Rider fans travel exceptionally well, and were loud and proud in Edmonton despite their team’s loss.

Then, of course, there’s that great theme song by The Reklaws — and Jay and Dan’s obsession with it.

Jazz Cartier rocked the halftime show at Commonwealth.

Oh, and Derel Walker went off for 154 receiving yards and a touchdown. That too.

Friday | Hamilton 50, Montreal 11

 

The Johnny Football Show turned into the Jeremiah Masoli show quickly, and Twitter freaked out accordingly.

The Ticats even won at sportsmanship, with running back Alex Green helping a fallen TSN camera operator off the ground.


Calgary 27, BC 18

As per usual, Calgary’s digital team performed at the same elite level as the on-field product and provided us with an inside look at HC Dave Dickenson’s post-game speech.
