Argos release OL Brandon Washington

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts have released international offensive lineman Brandon Washington, the team announced on Wednesday.

Washington played in 18 games for the Double Blue over the past two seasons, including all seven this season.

Last week’s trade that brought in offensive lineman Ryan Bomben from Montreal in exchange for defensive back T.J. Heath gave the team ratio flexibility along the O-line. The addition of Bomben will see Toronto shift to four Canadians on the offensive line and likely open up a spot for an American to start at receiver.

The Argos return to the field in Week 10 after a Week 9 bye to host the BC Lions.
