CFL Game Time: Vancouver Edition!

It’s early and I am at the Vancouver airport about to board my flight after (you guessed it) a busy week! I arrived in Vancouver on Tuesday morning with my colleague Lewis and we drove straight to the Lions practice facility for media availability. Actually, now that I am thinking about it we did stop at a borderline sketchy diner for a below par breakfast. We were tired…it was the wrong choice.

I got to catch up with two of my favourite players in the CFL Manny Arceneaux and Odell Willis after practice. Odell was running to play Madden, shocker. Manny and I were able to film a 20 Questions along with a Texts From Mom AND roommate horror stories (that’s coming out next week!)

On Wednesday morning I woke up SUPER early, which in my (unpopular) opinion is one of the best parts about travelling west. I am a morning person and the early mornings, especially on the road, mean I have time to get out and check out the city. I went for a 6km jog along the water and then stopped for breakfast and a coffee…all before 7:30am

Later that day we met up with the Edmonton Eskimos to film with CJ Gable and Kwaku Boateng who had just hopped off their flight. I chatted with CJ about the game, you can check out the interview below.

On Thursday it was Game Time! BC Place blew me away again, it is so beautiful! Davis and I were filming CFL Game Time live just outside BC Place in the Terry Fox Memorial Plaza. If you were watching and couldn’t tell, we were COOKIN in the heat – and if not you can check out a few clips below. We talked all three matchups and got a chance to meet country star Chad Brownlee who was a fantastic interview and all around nice guy. He was a Vancouver Canuck, drafted in 2003 and also won a Juno…all before he was 30. Legendary.

It was another exciting Thursday night game (we’ve now seen back to back!) and the halftime entertainment did not disappoint either. Chad tore it up.

Our team had the best time enjoying beautiful Vancouver! Thank you to everyone who made our trip smooth and of course, a really really good time. Next week guys there is NO Thursday Night Football…but don’t you worry our team is workin for ya. We will be in EDMONTON on Saturday to film CFL Game Time! It will be my first trip (I don’t know how that’s possible either) and I would love your suggestions on what to check out/eat in the city if we’ve got extra time. Have a great week and enjoy some football!
