Checking Down: Gable returns for Eskimos vs. Ticats

TORONTO — C.J. Gable has his name listed as the lone running back in the Eskimos depth chart ahead of their Thursday night meeting against his former team in Hamilton.

Word out of the Big Smoke claims that the Toronto Argonauts are frontrunners to sign free agent Duron Carter after he spent Wednesday in Toronto, reportedly meeting with team officials.

Meanwhile, in Montreal, Johnny Manziel continues to be absent from practice, which may open the door for Antonio Pipkin’s second straight start.
