Als release OL Landon Rice

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have released offensive lineman Landon Rice, the team announced on Thursday.

Rice was one of the three players sent to Montreal from Hamilton in the Johnny Manziel trade and played in four games with the Als this season.

Before being sent to Montreal, the 30-year-old spent his entire five-year CFL career with the Tiger-Cats. Rice played in 58 games with the Tabbies over that time span.

Philippe Gagnon is set to start in place of Rice when the Alouettes host the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.
