Week 11 Fantasy Locks: Ticats’ duo leads must-starts

TORONTO — The CFL Fantasy Podcast trio is ‘banking’ on a high-scoring game Thursday night in the Hammer.

The Eskimos and Ticats open an exciting slate of games in Week 11, as two of the league’s most productive offences — including the two best Fantasy quarterbacks in Mike Reilly and Jeremiah Masoli — square off in a critical late-August matchup.

But while the quarterbacks are the big names, podcast hosts Pat Steinberg and Hannah Nordman believe there’s value to take advantage of elsewhere too, specifically in a couple of Ticats.

“Alex Green is in my lineup,” said Nordman. “He’s up over 40 points in his last two starts, I think the matchup is huge for points and at $7,200 I think it’s a reasonable price for an RB1.”

Steinberg, meanwhile, is leaning on one of the top targets in the Ticats’ passing game in Brandon Banks. The last time these teams met Banks had current season-high with 117 receiving yards and a touchdown on six catches.

Banks enters Week 11 with 100 or more receiving yards in six of his last seven contests.

“I know the price tag is high but I believe he will be the No. 1 option for Jeremiah Masoli in what will be a high-scoring showdown with Edmonton,” said Steinberg. “I think there are lots of points to be had, and a lot of those are going to go Brandon Banks’ way.”

While Pat and Hannah are locking in on Thursday night’s game, Jeff Krever’s mind is wandering elsewhere in Week 11.

With Eric Rogers missing in Calgary, Krever likes Kamar Jorden as the top receiver option, not just this week vs. Winnipeg but for the foreseeable future.

“With the emerging receivers in Edmonton and there being a bit of a cloudy situation in Hamilton with all that talent, I think Kamar Jorden is the most reliable receiver in Fantasy right now,” said Krever. “Ever since Rogers went out he’s gone off; last week he had 19.6 points and all of those coming in the second half. He is going to get the ball a ton against the Bombers.”
