Alouettes list Pipkin as starter in Week 12

The Canadian Press

OTTAWA — Antonio Pipkin is expected to be the Montreal Alouettes’ starting quarterback when they take the field Friday night in the nation’s capital.

The Alouettes take on the Ottawa REDBLACKS at TD Place to open up Week 12, with Pipkin listed as the top quarterback on the team’s depth chart.

For Pipkin it would be his third consecutive start for the Als, while Manziel is listed as the primary backup after reportedly passing concussion protocol this week and returning to practice.

The Alouettes are looking for their second win in a row after a thrilling 25-22 win over the Argos in Week 11. In that game, Antonio Pipkin threw for 303 yards and ran for two touchdowns to earn his first career victory. He became the first quarterback in Alouettes history to throw for 300-plus yards with two rushing touchdowns.

Manziel missed two games for the Alouettes after the team put him through concussion protocol.
