Derel Walker’s Labour Day cut short by injury

CALGARY — Derel Walker left Monday’s Labour Day Classic in Calgary with what appears to be a left leg injury.  Walker took a hit from Calgary defensive back Tre Roberson late in the first quarter and needed help off the field.

He did not return and there is no official word from the Eskimos as to the status of his injury.

If Walker is to miss any time it would be a significant loss for an Eskimos offence that held two of the top three receivers in the CFL heading into Week 12.  Walker entered with 875 yards receiving and a league-leading eight touchdowns.
