Report: Lulay practises with Lions’ first-team offence

The Canadian Press

VANCOUVER — BC Lions quarterback Travis Lulay took first-team reps Monday, according to a report from Dan Ralph of The Canadian Press.

The Lions returned to practice ahead of their Week 14 game against the Montreal Alouettes

Lulay left in the second quarter of his team’s 26-14 victory last week over the Ottawa REDBLACKS after a hit by Ottawa’s defensive lineman J.R. Tavai.

Prior to his departure, Lulay had completed nine of his 15 passing attempts for 108 yards and a touchdown.

However, despite leaving the game, the veteran quarterback was back at work on Monday and practising with the Lions starting offence.
A good sign for the Lions, who are two points behind the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Division standings. A win against Montreal will draw the Lions even with Winnipeg as they have Week 13 off.
Receiver DeVier Posey also took practice reps with the Lions’ starters after signing with the CFL club earlier Monday. The receiver returns to the Canadian Football League after being released by the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, where he had been signed since Feb. 6, 2018.
Posey was signed by Baltimore after being named MVP in last year’s Grey Cup as a member of the Toronto Argonauts. He registered seven catches for 175 yards and a TD in the Argonauts’ 27-24 win over the Calgary Stampeders.
The arrival of Posey fills a need for BC with the recent news that veteran receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux would be missing a substantial amount of time with a torn ACL.
Lions’ Chris Rainey was also actively involved at practice on Monday for the Lions after being a healthy scratch last week against the REDBLACKS. Rainey spent some time at running back behind Jeremiah Johnson at practice, while also getting some reps in on special teams.
