Tavai among players fined following Week 13

TORONTO — The Canadian Football League announced Wednesday that three players have been fined following Week 13 games.

Ottawa REDBLACKS defensive lineman J.R. Tavai was fined for leading with his helmet in delivering a high hit to BC Lions quarterback Travis Lulay.

Calgary Stampeders defensive back Brandon Smith was fined for leading with his helmet in delivering a high hit on Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly.

Also with the Stamps, offensive lineman Randy Richards was fined for using profanity directly into a TSN camera.

As per league policy, the amount of the player fines was not disclosed.
