TORONTO — While many CFL Fantasy players are shying away from the Calgary-Hamilton matchup, Pat Steinberg, Jeff Krever and Hannah Nordman are attacking it head on.
The CFL Fantasy Podcast trio submitted their locks for Week 14, with all three coming from Saturday’s clash at Tim Hortons Field.
Three other quarterbacks appear on Fantasy rosters more frequently than Jeremiah Masoli this week, but for Krever, the Ticats’ pivot has been too good to pass up.
“I still like the Ticats this week even though they’ve got what you would consider a tough Stampeders opponent,” said Krever. “The Ticats aren’t going to win this game by running it down the Stamps’ throat — you still can’t run on that Stampeders defence. Jeremiah Masoli has to get it done and he’s going to throw it a lot.
“I like Masoli, get him running around and put up some points.”
Masoli and one of his go-to receivers, Luke Tasker, make up this week’s locks along with whoever’s starting at running back for the Calgary Stampeders.
“I like Luke Tasker,” said Nordman. “I know it’s against the Stamps, but touchdowns in three consecutive weeks. In the past three weeks alone 390 yards. This guy’s rolling, I expect more big things and pretty good value from him as well.”
Steinberg, meanwhile, says it’s impossible to avoid the Stampeders’ running back situation — though fans may have to monitor closely whether it’s the injured Don Jackson or the fast-emerging Romar Morris.
Jackson wasn’t at practice on Thursday, indicating Morris could be the starter on Saturday.
“I do think the Stamps will put up big yards with their featured back this week,” said Steinberg. “Whoever is your starting running back in Calgary, that’s your lock of the week.”
