RotoExperts: CFL Week 15 Fantasy Rankings

The Canadian Press

The Eskimos are coming off their open week, which means Mike Reilly is atop the quarterback rankings for Week 15.

Reilly and his $14,000 salary return to action against Ottawa on Saturday, with Fantasy users hoping the Edmonton pivot can pick up where he left off prior to last week’s open date. Reilly went on one-week vacation following a TSN CFL Fantasy football season-high 48.2 points in a Week 13 win over Calgary that saw him throw for three touchdowns and rush for three more. He has had three games of three touchdown passes in his last four games and leads the league in both passing majors (26) and rushing touchdowns (11).

Week 15 will see at least two new starting quarterbacks, as Johnny Manziel ($6,000) regains his role from Antonio Pipkin ($6,856) in Montreal while Jonathon Jennings ($5,680) returns to the starting lineup in the wake of Travis Lulay’s ($5,886) shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Ottawa’s Trevor Harris ($8,597) will look to build off last week’s solid effort when he faces the Eskimos, and Hamilton’s Jeremiah Masoli ($11,054) will be determined to erase last Saturday’s bland performance against Calgary when the Tiger-Cats meet Jennings and the Lions.

In a game in which both the defence and special teams managed to score majors for the Ticats, Jeremiah Masoli and the offence will head to BC in Week 15 to get back on track. (Adam Gagnon, CFL.ca)

Masoli’s numbers will get a huge bump if receiver Brandon Banks ($10,516) returns after missing last week with a groin injury. Banks’ status is the reason why he’s ranked second among receivers behind Edmonton’s D’haquille Williams ($8,396), who has scored majors in four straight games along with hitting the 100-yard mark in each of his last three. BC’s Bryan Burnham ($6,835) has also scored in four straight and will continue to get a high volume of targets thrown his way while the REDBLACKS trio of Diontae Spencer ($8,789), Brad Sinopoli ($6,563) and Greg Ellingson ($6,515) will be popular with Fantasy users expecting a shootout with the Eskimos.

Potential bargains at receiver can be found in BC’s DeVier Posey ($4,194), Toronto’s Duron Carter ($3,530) and Saskatchewan’s Kyran Moore ($2,500), whose return potential makes him an intriguing play if the Roughriders can get him involved in the offence.

Ottawa’s William Powell ($8,991) comes off a 148-yard, two-TD performance in Week 14 and tops the running back rankings this week as he is within four yards of crossing the 1,000-yard mark for a second straight season. Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris ($7,666) recent slump has taken his salary cap price down but the do-all Blue Bomber gets a favorable matchup against the Alouettes on Friday night. Ticats back Alex Green ($9,263) failed to score for the first time this season and will look to be a rebound play against the Lions.

Toronto’s James Wilder Jr ($8,172) will have his share of users in Saturday’s game against Saskatchewan despite his inability to deliver a monster performance this season, while Edmonton’s C.J. Gable is expected to return to the lineup after missing the Eskimos’ previous game against the Stampeders.

Defensively, the Roughriders ($6,224) top the pack as they seek to bounce back from managing just one Fantasy point in last week’s loss to the REDBLACKS. Look for the Blue Bombers ($5,076) to receive a lot of traction as they face an Alouettes team that has managed just one touchdown pass from Manziel and Pipkin over the last six games.
