WINNIPEG — Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris was sidelined during Friday night’s win over the Montreal Alouettes and did not return.

Harris suffered what the team described as a lower body injury in the second quarter, and was spotted on the side line without his uniform throughout the second half.

The 31-year-old became the first player this season to reach the 1,000-yard rushing mark earlier in the game and also scored a touchdown.

Harris finished with 44 rushing yards on seven carries, adding a 10-yard receiving touchdown to eventually help the Bombers earn a 31-14 win over the Montreal Alouettes.

Through Friday night’s action, Harris is the CFL’s leading rusher with 1,028 yards, though second-place William Powell is close behind and plays on Saturday.
