Report: Ticats’ Banks could miss second straight game with injury

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are about to embark on a critical home-and-home set with the BC Lions and likely will do so without their no. 1 receiver in Brandon Banks.

Banks, who sat out last week’s home game against Calgary, could miss his second straight as he nurses a groin injury originally sustained in early September against Toronto.

It has been reported that Banks has not practiced all week but he is listed on the Ticats’ depth chart.

Until the injury, Banks had been on a tear, making 69 catches for 1,033 yards and seven touchdowns.

Banks won’t be the only one out of the lineup Saturday when the ‘Cats clash with the Leos as they will be without starting tailback Alex Green who got banged up in the loss to Calgary as well.  Green has been placed on the injured list and will be replaced by veteran RB John White.

The Tiger-Cats currently sit second place in the CFL’s East Division, two points behind the Ottawa REDBLACKS with six games remaining before the post-season.
