Sights, Sounds and Social | Week 17

Week 17 had it all: An intense overtime contest in the nation’s capital, a much-needed win for BC and a pair of grinding, defensive victories on Thanksgiving Monday.

Let’s take a look at the best from social media this week.

Friday | Winnipeg at Ottawa

The Bombers showed character in pulling out a key overtime road win at TD Place, after initially blowing a fourth-quarter lead.

Lewis Ward set an all-time CFL record with his 40th-straight field goal; the University of Ottawa product continues to amaze in his rookie season.

Adam Bighill sealed the win with a ball strip in overtime.

Saturday | Toronto at BC

The BC Lions scored an important win on home turf Saturday, eliminating the Toronto Argonauts in the process.

It was Family Day at BC Place, and veteran quarterback Travis Lulay sported some sweet footwear to celebrate.

Then, as has become the routine for the Lions, their digital team let us inside the locker room following the victory. Still so cool.

Monday | Calgary at Montreal

The turkeys were out at the tailgate in Montreal.

While Calgary’s defence dominated on the field, linebacker Alex Singleton stole the show on social after taking the time to chat with a fan in Montreal.

NBA veteran Jerome Williams — a.k.a. Junkyard Dog, formerly of the Toronto Raptors — was in the house at Percival Molson Stadium for the contest.

Monday | Edmonton at Saskatchewan

Family Day brought out all the feels in Saskatchewan, where the Riders edged the Esks thanks to Willie Jefferson‘s late-game heroics.

It was an electric moment, and Mosaic Stadium roared accordingly.

Yes, yes you were gone, Willie.
