A Bombers fan’s guide to Week 19

WINNIPEG — Just because the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are on a Week 19 bye, doesn’t mean fans of the blue and gold should take a week off of watching CFL football.

The West Division is tight and playoff positioning is anything but determined with just three weeks left in the regular season.

This week, fans of the Bombers should be cheering for the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos to win their Week 19 contests.

If Calgary wins this week against Saskatchewan, they clinch the division and the Riders will stay just two points ahead of the Bombers for second place. That also means that Calgary won’t have much to play for next week when they head to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers at IGF.

An Edmonton win against the Lions will also be ideal for the Bombers. That win will keep the Lions from clinching a playoff berth, and keep them behind Winnipeg, for at least another week.
