REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed their top draft pick from the 2018 CFL Draft, agreeing to terms with UBC offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley.

The team also announced it has signed national offensive lineman Emmanuel Adusei and released defensive back Tristan Doughlin and fullback Oumar Toure.

Shepley was the fifth overall pick in the draft in May, but the 6-foot-4, 306-pound offensive lineman was signed by the NFL’s New York Jets. The 23-year-old was one of seven offensive lineman chosen in the first round of the CFL Draft.

The move comes just days after the Riders also added national lineman Philip Blake through a trade with the Montreal Alouettes, further bolstering the team’s national content up front.

The 10-6 Riders look to bounce back from a 31-0 loss when they visit the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Saturday night.
