Lions HC Claybrooks’ mom is on Twitter, and it’s awesome

The BC Lions introduced DeVone Claybrooks as their new head coach on Tuesday, plucking the former defensive coordinator from the Stampeders’ Grey Cup-winning coaching staff.

Claybrooks’ aggressive, big-play defence has been much-celebrated by fans, media and football personnel alike, but his mother Sally — who played a huge part in saving his life during a health scare in August — remains his biggest supporter.

The account had been dormant for a few years, but returned with some all-star calibre selfies during Grey Cup Week in Edmonton.

Ms. Claybrooks was in Calgary for the post-Grey Cup celebrations.

And on-hand in Vancouver yesterday when her son was named the 26th head coach in Lions history.
