The BC Lions introduced DeVone Claybrooks as their new head coach on Tuesday, plucking the former defensive coordinator from the Stampeders’ Grey Cup-winning coaching staff.
Claybrooks’ aggressive, big-play defence has been much-celebrated by fans, media and football personnel alike, but his mother Sally — who played a huge part in saving his life during a health scare in August — remains his biggest supporter.
She is also on Twitter, and her profile should be your next follow in the CFL community.

And on-hand in Vancouver yesterday when her son was named the 26th head coach in Lions history.
“I missed a high school playoff game as a senior because I got two Cs on my report card. We do have that high standard.”
Raised by his mom and grandparents in Virginia, DeVone Claybrooks (@biscuit9595) brings a solid work ethic to #BCLions 🏈
