Anthony Orange changes colours; signs with Esks

EDMONTON — Veteran defensive back Anthony Orange has signed with the Edmonton Eskimos, the team announced Tuesday.

The move continues quite the haul for the Esks, who have added big names on both sides of the ball including Trevor Harris, Greg Ellingson and Larry Dean, among others.

Formerly known as A.J. Jefferson, Orange rebounded in 2018 with the Lions, starting all 18 games on a revamped Lions secondary. The 30-year-old recorded 54 tackles and a career-high five interceptions in the process, returning one for a touchdown.

The Eskimos have been by far the busiest team on the first day of free agency. Their front seven will certainly have a new look in 2019, with Don Unamba and Jovan Santos-Knox also on board.
