Eskimos sign free agent LB Santos-Knox to one-year deal

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Eskimos have signed highly-touted linebacker Jovan Santos Knox to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.

The former Bomber joined the Esks’ new-look linebacker core after the free agent market officially opened at noon ET.

Santos-Knox had an impressive sophomore season in Winnipeg, suiting up in 18 games and collecting 82 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, six sacks and two forced fumbles.

In 2017, the six-foot-two, 233-pounder’s rookie season, Santos-Knox tallied 47 defensive tackles, 19 special teams tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.

Santos-Knox was ranked No. 24 on CFL.ca’s pending free agent list.
