Ticats sign veteran RB Marshall

HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Tuesday the football club has signed free agent international running back Cameron Marshall.

Marshall, 27, appeared in three games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2018, registering 34 carries for 220 yards, while adding three receptions for 32 yards. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound native of San Jose, Calif. has appeared in 32 career Canadian Football League games with the Roughriders (2017-18) and Blue Bombers (2014-15), recording 278 carries for 1,392 yards and seven rushing touchdowns, with 65 receptions for 690 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He also returned six kickoffs for 131 yards.

Marshall also spent time in the National Football League with the Miami Dolphins (2013-14), Seattle Seahawks (2016) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2016). Prior to turning pro, he played in 49 games over four seasons (2009-12) at Arizona State University, registering 579 carries for 2,700 yards and 38 rushing touchdowns, and 64 receptions for 558 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Marshall finished second in school history in career rushing touchdowns, and in 2011, he tied the Sun Devils’ single-season school record with 18 rushing touchdowns.
