Bombers to give away 1,500 free footballs

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are inviting all youth tackle football players who registered in 2018 to come pick up a free football from the Bomber Store.

As part of the CFL’s #TryFootball campaign, the team is providing footballs to be used at recess, lunch, or after school for a pick-up game with friends. Free footballs are available for pick up at the Bomber Store until May 3 during regular Bomber Store hours.

“As part of our commitment to grow amateur and youth football participation in the province, we’re excited to be able to give away 1,500 free footballs to children interested in playing,” said Winnipeg Blue Bombers President & CEO, Wade Miller. “We hope that recess and lunch periods are filled with pick-up football games across the province this spring.”

2019 tackle football registration takes place Thursday, May 2 from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – interested parents are encouraged to check with their local club to confirm registration times.
