TORONTO — University of British Columbia defensive back Stavros Katsantonis has had his draft year moved back to 2020.
The CFL put out a statement on Thursday night indicating that Katsantonis has accepted the results from his A-sample test that was collected at combine. As a result, he will receive a one-year suspension and is no longer draft eligible for 2019.
The safety out of UBC was initially projected to be drafted on Thursday after a strong 2018 season with the Thunderbirds, in which he recorded 50 combined tackles (28 solo) and tallied four interceptions to go with a fumble recovery.
Katsantonis participated in the CFL Combine presented by New Era back in March, running a time of 4.71 in the 40-yard dash along with a 38-inch vertical.
