TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts have added another pass rusher just after the start of camp, officially announcing Wednesday they’ve signed Freddie Bishop III.

Bishop, 29, left the CFL in 2016 to join the NFL’s New York Jets. He played three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders, including a breakout season in 2015 when he recorded 11 sacks in 17 games.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound pass rusher adds what could be another dynamic threat off the edge in Head Coach Corey Chamblin’s defence, joining off-season additions Shawn Lemon and Tobi Antigha.

Last season the Argos ranked at the bottom of the CFL with 24 sacks, contributing to the second-worst defence in the league with 406.1 yards allowed per game.
