Youtube-sensation kicker no stranger to CFL

The Toronto Argonauts added kicker Donald De La Haye — better-known as Youtube star Deestroying — to their roster on the weekend.

While the Port St. Lucie, Fla. native is in a CFL camp for the first time, he is no stranger to the league; De La Haye paid a visit to the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ facilities back in Sept. 2017, shining a light on the CFL game for his 1.4M subscribers.

While it remains to be seen what De La Haye can bring to the table — he is, after all, competing with Drew Brown (I), Tyler Crapigna (N), Zackary Medeiros (N) and Ronnie Pfeffer (N) for the Argos’ kicking job — he’s undeniably a social media star who can kick the football well.

Jim Popp and co. would not have brought him to camp otherwise.

Previous to his camp opportunity in Toronto, De La Haye spent two seasons at Central Florida (2015-16).

The Argonauts’ first pre-season game is slated for next Thursday (May 30), at the University of Toronto’s Varsity Stadium against the Montreal Alouettes.
