TORONTO — McLeod Bethel-Thompson will start under centre for the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday night when they take on the BC Lions, head coach Corey Chamblin announced on Wednesday.

Bethel-Thompson took over for an injured James Franklin in Monday’s contest against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In the final quarter of the game, he completed three of six passes for 26 yard.

The 31-year-old also played in the team’s season opener against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 2, completing nine of 16 passes for 99 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

The Argos are 0-2 to start the 2019 campaign and will be looking for their first win against Mike Reilly and the Leos at BMO Field.
