CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders were without two of their offensive leaders on Tuesday, as running back Ka’Deem Carey and receiver Juwan Brecsacin were both absent from practice, according to the Calgary Sun’s Danny Austin.

Carey left the Stamps’ Week 7 game against the Ottawa REDBLACKS with what looked to be a lower-body injury sustained at the tail end of a 31-yard rush. He limped off the field and didn’t return to the game after halftime.

The 26-year-old has taken over in the Stampeders’ backfield in the wake of Don Jackson’s injury. Carey has 277 all-purpose yards on the year and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

Terry Williams will step in and start in the event that Carey is not ready to go by the weekend. Williams played the entire second half for the Stamps, returning kicks and serving as the feature back. He had 90 all-purpose yards in the victory over the REDBLACKS.

Brescacin was also injured early in the Week 7 clash and was not able to return. He’s had a solid start to his campaign, hauling in 14 receptions for 168 yards and three touchdowns in four games.

The 26-year-old is expected to be placed on the six-game injured list, head coach Dave Dickenson said, according to Stamps play-by-play broadcaster Mark Stephen.

Markeith Ambles, Reggie Begelton, and Eric Rogers caught a combined 19 passes and had 79, 78, and 71 receiving yards, respectively, against Ottawa.

Kickoff between the Stampeders and Eskimos is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
