MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have released quarterback Brandon Bridge and added Antonio Pipkin to the active roster, the team announced Wednesday.

Bridge, 27, served as the Als’ third-string quarterback this season. This was his second stint in Montreal following three years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The 24-year-old Pipkin played in six games with Montreal last season, completing 78 of 131 passes for 1,120 yards and three touchdowns while throwing eight interceptions. He won the starting job in camp but was injured the first week of the season.

In his lone appearance in 2019, Pipkin went 7 of 17 for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Pipkin will likely serve as a backup to starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.
