WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without one of their defensive catalysts for a significant amount of time.

Defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat has been placed on the six-game injured list after he suffered an injury in the Bombers’ Week 8 game against the Toronto Argonauts.

The 27-year-old got off to a great start this season, notching 11 tackles and three sacks while pressuring the quarterback opposite Willie Jefferson.

Jeffcoat was forced to leave the game against the Argos with a lower-body injury and did not return.

Craig Roh will fill in as Jeffcoat’s replacement against the Stamps on Thursday night. The fifth-year man has compiled 10 tackles and a pair of sacks in seven games this season. Rookie Jonathan Kongbo will serve as the backup to Roh.

The Bombers will welcome the Stampeders to IG Field to start Week 9. Kick-off is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
