#TotalPickEm Recap: Week 10

Another week, another plus week for this #TotalPickEm column.

Ridiculous finish in Calgary aside, we hammered favourites and were rewarded.

Winnipeg 32, BC 16

The Bombers took care of business against the last-place Lions, but lost starting QB Matt Nichols in the process on Thursday night.

Winnipeg (7-2) has opened up some breathing room between it and the rest of the West (minus Edmonton), but now faces 4-6 weeks with sophomore pivot Chris Streveler at the helm.

The immediate future has the Bombers visiting the Esks, then the classic home-and-home with Saskatchewan — a real gauntlet for Streveler.

BC has now lost five-straight games, and at 1-8 is fully in must-win territory.

PICK: Correct.

Edmonton 41, Toronto 26

Trevor Harris just. keeps. rolling.

The Esks QB has thrown 900 more yards than any other CFL QB, and has led Edmonton (6-3) through a challenging first half with a solid winning record.

He also threw for 420 yards and a trio of TDs against Toronto (1-7)

His 13:2 TD-INT ratio is also tasty.

By the way: Greg Ellingson is still a very, very good football player.

PICK: Correct.

Hamilton 21, Ottawa 7

That Ticats defence? It’s good.

Ottawa’s offence? Not so much.

The Tabbies are flying high with a multi-game lead atop the East Division, while Ottawa has been firmly passed by Montreal.

With a trip to BC and a Labour Day date with Toronto — combined record: 2-15 — ahead of them, the Ticats will feel very good about their chances of winning the East.

PICK: Correct.

Montreal 40, Calgary 34 (OT)

Words fail me, so here are some highlights instead:

Insanity is really the only word.

Hey, Vernon Adams Jr. looks like a legitimate star in the making!

PICK: Incorrect.

Week 10: 3-1

2019: 31-8 (.795)
