Alouettes sign Murray-Lawrence to practice roster

MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes have signed national running back Shaquille Murray-Lawrence to the team’s practice roster, it was announced on Wednesday.

The five-foot-eight, 192-pounder played three seasons with the BC Lions (2015-2017) and suited up in 39 games. He rushed the ball 47 times for 148 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 13 catches out of the backfield for 73 yards and had 60 kickoff returns for 1,288 yards.

The team also announced that they have released national defensive back Cauchy Muamba. The 32-year-old, and brother of Alouettes star lineabacker Henoc Muamba, played in just one game this season with Montreal. Over his CFL career, Muamba has suited up for the BC Lions (2010-2012), Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2013) and Edmonton Eskimos (2014-2017).
