The Tabbies have had some different looks at running back this season. Sean Thomas Erlington began the season as the starter, but a lower-body injury saw him land on the six-game injured list. Cameron Marshall has taken over as the starter, with Anthony Coombs and Bralon Addison also taking handoffs.

Sutton is a six-year CFL veteran, having previous stops in Montreal and BC. He has compiled 3,841 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns along with 1,539 receiving yards and another three scores through the air in 73 games.

The 32-year-old signed a deal with the Toronto Argonauts in the offseason, but after spending time on the injured list, the team released him in July.

The Ticats also signed receiver Justin Thomas, defensive back Johnny Robinson and defensive tackle Sheriden Lawley to the practice roster.

Hamilton will be back in action in Week 14 when they travel to McMahon Stadium to face the Calgary Stampeders on Sept 14. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. ET.
