Stamps’ Begelton, Greenwood out vs. Argos

CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders will be without linebacker Cory Greenwood and receiver Reggie Begelton when they travel to Toronto in Week 15.

The Stamps take on the Argonauts on Friday night at BMO Field in search of a fourth straight win. However, they’ll have to do it without the CFL’s leaders in tackles and receiving yards respectively.

After earning a starting job at linebacker in camp, Greenwood has been a dominant member of the Stampeder defence, leading the CFL with 79 tackles.

Begelton, meanwhile, has enjoyed a breakout season, currently leading the league in yards (1,036) while ranking second in touchdowns (7) and third in receptions (72).

Aaron Peck draws into the lineup in Bagelton’s spot. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound rookie had a strong pre-season, and will make his first career start at slotback.

On defence, American Nate Holley draws into the lineup for Greenwood. He’ll start at linebacker alongside veteran Wynton McManis.

The Stamps will also be without running back Don Jackson and Markeith Ambles, who have been placed on the team’s one-game injured list. Josh Huff draws another start at receiver while Ka’Deem Carey remains the starting running back.

With the ration change at linebacker, the Stamps have also made changes to their O-line. Ucambre Williams moves to tackle while Justin Lawrence will start at centre in between Shane Bergman and Ryan Sceviour. Nila Kasitati is out as the Stamps move to three Canadians up front.

Week 15 begins Friday night in Toronto, where the Stampeders have a chance to move into a first place tie, at least temporarily, with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL West Division. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET.
