Tickets on sale now for Shaw CFL Awards; TSN’s Duthie to host

TORONTO — The Canadian Football League (CFL) has announced that TSN’s James Duthie will host the 2019 Shaw CFL Awards on Thursday, November 21.

One of Canada’s most recognizable broadcasters and the winner of multiple awards, including several Canadian Screen Awards and the Sports Media Canada Excellence in Sports Broadcasting Award, Duthie returns to host the event for a fourth time, having previously done so in 2014, 2017 and 2018.

On-sale now, tickets start at $100 and include a drink voucher. Premium seating which includes two drink vouchers, is available from $175. The reception and red carpet welcome will begin at 6 p.m. MT and the show is slated for 7:30 p.m. MT.

The evening offers fans the opportunity to brush shoulders with the CFL’s brightest stars as the league recognizes individual performances and achievements from the 2019 season by naming the Most Outstanding Player, Most Outstanding Defensive Player, Most Outstanding Canadian, Nissan TITAN Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, Most Outstanding Special Teams Player, Most Outstanding Rookie and Coach of the Year.

Commissioner Randy Ambrosie will honour exceptional contributions to Canadian football through the Commissioner’s Award and the Hugh Campbell Distinguished Leadership Award. Selected by the CFL Players’ Association, the Tom Pate Memorial Award will recognize sportsmanship and contributions to one’s team, community and association, while the Jake Gaudaur Veteran’s Award will be presented to the player who best demonstrates the attributes of Canada’s veterans in times of war, peace and military conflict.

The 2019 Shaw CFL Award nominees will be announced on November 7.

Several ticketed events for the 2019 Grey Cup Festival presented by Shaw are on-sale, including the Canadian Tire CFL Alumni Association Legends Luncheon, the Alberta Blue Cross Grey Cup Gala Dinner, the Cheer Extravaganza, the first-ever Grey Cup Rodeo, the SiriusXM Saturday Night Concert presented by Coors Light, and more. The 107th Grey Cup presented by Shaw will be played on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Calgary at McMahon Stadium, and broadcast across Canada on RDS and TSN – the country’s most-watched specialty network. This year’s championship will mark the fifth time Calgary has hosted the game and the first since the 97th Grey Cup in 2009. A limited number of tickets are still available at Ticketmaster.ca/GreyCup.
