HAMILTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be near full strength in their backfield when they take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night.

Running back Maleek Irons will return to the lineup while fellow rusher Tyrell Sutton will make his debut for the Ticats.

Irons has been out of action since Week 8 after being placed on the six-game injured list. Through his first seven games this season, the 23-year-old has 156 yards and a touchdown on 35 carries.

Sutton was signed to the Ticats’ practice roster on Sept. 9. He signed with the Toronto Argonauts during the offseason but was released by the team before playing a regular-season game. Through his seven CFL seasons, he’s run for 3,841 yards and 17 touchdowns on 698 carries. He’s also added another 1,539 yards and three scores on 178 catches.

The Ticats will head to IG Field to face off with the Bombers to open Week 16 action. The showdown between the East and West Division leaders kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
