A Very Happy Birthday: Wilder Jr. surprised with dad’s highlight tape
All James Wilder Jr. wanted for his birthday was his dad’s highlight tape.
Wilder never got to watch his dad, James Wilder Jr., play in the NFL. All he had was a VHS tape to look at of the incredible plays his dad made as a running back.
But when the Toronto Argonauts tailback was a kid, the VCR ruined the tape and he lost the highlights.
This year, two weeks before his birthday in April, Wilder sent a tweet to NFL Films, asking them to put together a tape for him.
He never heard back but NFL Films saw the tweet and made it happen, surprising Wilder on his 27th birthday.
