EDMONTON — Edmonton Eskimos receiver Christion Jones will miss the remainder of the 2019 season after sustaining a left knee injury in Saturday night’s game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Jones was carted off the field after an awkward collision during a punt return. He did not return to the game.

The 26-year-old was primarily in charge of returning kicks this season. Jones began the season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders but was traded to the Eskimos in exchange for Kenny Stafford. In 13 games split between the two organizations in 2019, he has accumulated 43 receiving yards on 7 catches to go along with 1,480 return yards over 105 total attempts.

The Eskimos will finish their regular-season schedule when they travel to Mosaic Stadium in Week 21 for their matchup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 4:00 p.m. ET.
